Horse Racing

General
If no official SP is returned, if no price is taken, then all bets will be settled at the last Industry show passed. If no Industry show is given then bets will be settled on the last available World Sports Betting price.

Ante-Post
With the exception of starting price bets, should any selection not run for any reason other than the abandonment of the race itself-
(a)  An ante post bet shall be lost and the punter shall forfeit his stake; and
(b)  Ante post bets struck on other horses/contestants in the race concerned shall not be subject to any adjustment in betting odds.

Where a race is abandoned, all ante post selections that are still live or undetermined involving the race concerned, shall become void and stakes refunded or credited.
Should a selected horse/contestants in any leg of a multiple event bet be scratched, withdrawn or not accepted prior to the bet becoming void or being won, the bet shall be regarded as lost, notwithstanding the fact that any included race is abandoned.

Stewards are empowered to reduce the numbers in a race if, at the overnight declaration stage, too many have been left in for the safety of horses and jockeys. Ante-Post bets on horses compulsorily withdrawn will be void and stakes returned. Bookmakers in these circumstances are authorised to make appropriate deductions from winning bets on the race, depending on the price(s) of the withdrawn horse(s) at the time of withdrawal in accordance with the Deduction Rule. On the 'Day of the Race Prices' deductions will also apply.

Ante-Post bets are settled at the Price and Place terms applicable at the time of acceptance. Should a wrong Price or Place terms be given in error we reserve the right to settle the bet at the correct Price/Place terms that were available at the time the bet was struck.

Should a wager struck at a price on the day of an event couple selection(s) in that event with selection(s) in future event(s) then if the first selection(s) does not run the wager will be executed on the remaining selection(s) on the basis of all in, run or not.

Postponed races
If a race is postponed to another day and overnight declarations stand then bets stand. However, single bets on horse racing will be made void and any selection involved in accumulative bets will be treated as a Non-Runner if:

- The race is abandoned.
- The race is officially declared void.
- The conditions of the race are altered after bets are made - The venue is altered.

Betting with a Run
Where a single bet is made “with a run” and the selected horse/contestant is scratched the bet shall become void and the punter shall be refunded.
All bets struck “with a run” on the remaining horses/contestants in a race where one or more horses/contestants have been scratched, shall be subject to deductions specified in our rules.
Where a deduction applies to remaining runners in any event of a multiple event bet “with a run”, the relevant deduction shall be applied to the runner/contestants of the event where the scratching occurred, and the entire bet recalculated in respect of the event from which the horse was scratched.
Any bets “with a run” struck after the official announcement of the withdrawal of one or more horses/contestants shall not be subject to any deduction, unless there is a further withdrawal or withdrawals.
Where a race is abandoned, all selections “with a run” on the race concerned shall become void.
In starting price multiple bets “with a run”, winnings on winning bets shall be calculated and paid at the official starting prices

Each-Way Betting and Place Betting Structure
Bets are settled to win unless 'Each-Way' is selected. An Each-Way bet is a bet of twice the selected unit stake. It contains one bet of unit stake on the selection to 'Win' and one bet of unit stake on the selection to be 'Placed' according to the terms advertised for the event.

World Sports Betting bets on a the place of a nominated racing event according to the following place structure calculated on a percentage the advertised 'win' price:

NUMBER OF RUNNERS PAY PLACES
4 -7 Runners 2
8-13 Runners 3
14/More Runners 4

Place Only Betting
Bets on non-runners will be void, and when applicable a deduction will apply to all remaining runners based on the win deduction of the withdrawn horse at the time of withdrawal. In the event of non-runners the number of places paid will remain the same, unless the number of runners in the race is equal to or less than the number of places paid, in which case World Sports Betting has the right to refund place betting on that particular race. This market is settled on the official place terms of the race. Normal dead-heat rules apply. In the event of two or more horses being withdrawn before coming under starter's orders then the total deductions will not exceed R0.95 in R1.00.
Pay Places are determined by the number of carded runners (including number of reserve runners).

Dead-Heats
In the case of a two horses/contestants dead heat in races other than “match races”, and also in winning multiple event bets where one race results in a dead heat, the punter shall lose half of the odds in the event where the dead heat occurs, and further lose half of the amount staked, the entire bet is then recalculated as a result of the event where the dead heat occurred.

If more than two Dead-Heat the stake is proportioned accordingly.
In the case of a dead heat in a match race the selection shall be void, unless the bet was placed on the outcome being a dead heat.

In winning multiple events bets where two races result in dead heats, the punter shall win the odds to one quarter of the stake and lose the other three quarters, and so on for further dead heats.

Notwithstanding the provisions of rule 18(2), in the case of a three horse/contestant dead heat in a multiple event bets, where one race/event results in a triple dead heat, the punter shall lose two thirds of the odds in the event where the dead heat occurs and lose two thirds of the stake and the entire bet is recalculated as a result of the event where the dead heat occurred.

Odds and Evens Betting
Dead-Heat Rules Apply
Deductions Rules Apply on any deduction of 15% and more

Early morning prices/day of event prices
After the final declarations stage, Non-Runner no-bet will apply.
If an early price is taken prior to a reserve horse being declared to run and the reserve was not quoted (either at starting price or early price) at the time the bet was placed then any such bets will be settled on the result “without the reserve runner(s)”.

Withdrawals other than Ante-Post
Where a horse is withdrawn before coming under starter's orders, or is officially deemed by the starter to have taken no part in the race, then stakes will be returned on the withdrawn horse and winning bets will be subject to a deduction. The rate of deduction will be based on the price of the withdrawn horse at the time of its withdrawal on the following scale:

ODDS DEDUCTION
22/1 & Bigger No Deduction
13/1 to 20/1 5%
9/1 to 12/1 10%
6/1 to 8/1 15%
15/4 to 11/2 20%
3/1 to 7/2 25%
22/10 to 28/10 30%
16/10 to 2/1 35%
13/10 to 15/10 40%
11/10 to 12/10 45%
19/20 to 1/1 50%
15/20 to 9/10 55%
11/20 to 7/10 60%
9/20 to 5/10 65%
4/10 70%
1/3 & Shorter 80%

Please note: Any prices that fall between two ranges will default to the lower deduction amount percentage. All deductions are based on the official on course price at time of scratching, and are subject to the pricing spcificed by the National Bookmakers associated, or the relevant preciding associated within the international district.

In the event of two or more horses being withdrawn before coming under starter's orders then the total deductions shall not exceed R0.90 in R1.00.

Should a horse be withdrawn and a new market formed then any bets laid at 'Show' prices prior to the new show will be subject to the above deductions. In the event of a further withdrawal after the market has been re-formed then bets placed at 'Show' prices in the original market will be subject to a further deduction based on the price of the withdrawn horse in the original market. Bets placed in the new market will be subject to a deduction based on the current price.

The above scale will also apply in the case of Non-Runners in Early Price races and will be used for other events where we specifically advertise that deductions will apply.

Re-runs
In the event of a false start, etc. resulting in a race being re-run, 'under starter's orders' is negated and stakes will be refunded on horses taking no part in the re-run. Returns on the remaining runners subject to a deduction. The number of runners taking part in the re-run governs Place terms.

In the event of any race being ordered to be re-run:
(a)“starting price” bets shall be calculated and paid at the current price at the time the race is finally run;
(b)“with a run” bets on any horse/contestants, which started on the first occasion and which as subsequently scratched, shall be void and the deductions in terms of rule 16 shall apply; and
(c)”ante-post” bets shall stand

Horse racing (Other)
If no Industry SP is declared and no price is taken, bets will be settled based upon the Tote dividend (declared inclusive of stake).

All Tote wagers are settled as per Tote direct rules.

World Sports Betting offer the following Tote Bets namely open and exotic bets:
Win, Each-Way, Place only, Swinger, Trifecta, Exacta, Quartet, Place Accumulator, Pick 6, Jackpot Soccer 6 & Rugby 5. All wagers are settled as per Tote direct rules.

By electing to place your Fixed Odds Bet, SP Bet, Open Bet or Tote Bet with World Sports Betting you acknowledge that World Sports Betting is not a Tote neither do we purport to be a Tote. You also agree to be bound by our terms and conditions, which may from time to time change, and you accept that it is your responsibility to keep yourself acquainted with our Limits, "Terms and Conditions" as well as our "Betting Rules".

Dividend Limits for all Open Bets, Exotic Bets, Soccer 6 and Rugby 5 will be limited to the lesser of the R2,000,000 Payout/Ticket limit or R2,000,000/1 Odds/Dividend Limits.

For example, if you catch a Pick 6 that pays R60,000 to a R1.00 unit and you catch it 20 times,
the R2,000,000 Payout/Ticket limit will apply.
The dividend that will be paid to you (Before Betting Tax) will be R1,200,000 less your stake.
If you catch 20% of a Pick 6 that pays R2,200, 000 to a 1 Rand unit for example,
the R2,000, 000/1 Odds/Dividend Limit will apply
The payout(Before Betting Tax) will be R400,000 (20% of R2,000,000).

Lotto, Power Ball, Multiple Bets and Yankee type bets are also limited to the lesser of the R2,000,000 Payout/Ticket limit or R2,000,000/1 Odds/Dividend Limits.

Totalisator Open Bet Carryovers/Net Pool Ruling
World Sports Betting base their Dividends/Payouts/Open Bet odds on the official dividend declared by Saftote and do not consider dividends declared by any other division or Totalisator in the Republic of South Africa.
World Sports Betting however reserve the right to utilise other dividends where we deem that the Totalisator pools are of significant size to produce stable and market related returns or odds.
In addition to the above limits World Sports Betting reserves the right to limit a dividend/return on a payout to the extent that the total payout does not exceed the "Nett Tote Pool" or in other words the Gross Tote pool less the Totalisator deductions.

Open/Exotic bet dividends are based on figures released from the Totalisator Operators Phumelela and Tabgold. Should there be no winning tickets on any pool on the Totalisator (ie a full carryover) but winning tickets at World Sports Betting, World Sports Betting will pay a dividend determined by dividing the Totalisator net pool by the number of all winning combinations at World Sports Betting. The maximum liability to any customer or syndicate of customers as may be determined by World Sports Betting in its sole discretion shall be limited to the total net Pool. These dividends and pay-outs will be subject to ticket limits. By way of example if a Trifecta is not won on the Totalisator and a Net pool of R10 000 is carried over. There are 10 winning combinations at World Sports Betting on this event then the Net pool of R10 000 is divided by 10 and a dividend of R1000 will be declared by World Sports Betting on this event subject to Open bet limits.
At NO point will dividends exceed the Net Pool.
Where a portion of the pool is a carryover and is declared by the Totalisator on an Open/Exotic bet, World Sports Betting shall pay the winning dividend as declared by Saftote.
However, the liability shall be limited to the value of the Pool paid out and NOT the value of the total pool.
By way of example, if a Trifecta net pool is R10 000 on an event and a dividend of R900 is declared to 7 winning tickets of 63% of the net pool on Saftote (total payout R6300) and a carryover of R3700 is declared, then World Sports Betting's maximum liability to any customer (or syndicate of customers or any group of people as may be determined by World Sports Betting in its sole discretion) shall be limited to the value of the pay-out, being R900 for the R1 unit.
The carryover figure will not be taken into account in declaring the dividend as the calculation of the dividend has already taken the carryover figure into account.

Although World Sports Betting limits online transactions, bigger limits can be obtained by phone betting transactions i.e. placing your bet by phoning our call centre. If you feel these limits are inadequate, kindly place your bet telephonically or part thereof, or contact Customer Care to discuss a larger limit on 0860 10 33 93 (+27860 10 33 93 or email us at accounts@wsb.co.za).

Starting Prices and Tote Odds
The starting price shall be the last official fixed price disseminated either from the race track or recognised dissemination facility, as displayed on the betting board indicator at the start of the event.
In the event of a late withdrawal where no new betting is displayed before the start of a race, the starting price shall be the last price displayed, subject to the adjustment reflected in the deduction table.

Matchplay (Head to Head)
All horses must come under starter's orders or bets are void. The horse that attains the highest official finishing position is the winner. Dead-heat rules apply. If both/all horses fail to finish all bets will be void and stakes returned. Limits on win may vary from course to course.  WSB reserves the right to change the horse in a match race without notice and reserves the right to suspend betting at any time.

The above applies to Jump, Hurdle or Chase horse racing. If a horse falls and one finishes, the horse that finishes is deemed the winner. If both horse fall then all bets will be void and stakes returned.
